Farhan takes challenging problems requiring technical solutions and figures out how to efficiently solve them ensuring that technology is utilized to its fullest while maintaining a good ROI for our customers. 

In 2004, Farhan started his career in the health care industry by helping architect and implement a custom n-tiered billing application utilizing advanced .NET technologies like Remoting. Since then he has focused on integrating Epic’s EHR offerings with other solutions.

While working at Epic as an EDI Analyst he not only implemented and supported most of the interface types offered by Epic at the time, but also participated in the official HL7 working group and contributed to the foundation of Epic’s HL7 version 3 infrastructure.  

Farhan is certified in Chronicles, Bridges, MyChart and EpicCare Ambulatory.

With a Bachelors in Computer Science and a great love for technology, Farhan has experience with a very wide array of programming languages ranging from simple bash scripts to more complex multi-tiered .NET constructs.  

He has first hand experience with most of the common platforms including Windows, Mac and Linux.

 Farhan contributes back to the technical community by maintaining a blog (thebitguru.com/blog) and publishing free and open source projects that users can freely install and enhance.  

In addition to the published projects, Farhan has contributed to the official Python language.

With a continuous interest in business Farhan began his formal business education by getting a minor in Business along with his Computer Science Bachelors degree. He continued his pursuit by getting a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  

Since getting his MBA he has worked with one startup and has been featured in PCWorld, ITWorld and UW-Madison’s Office of Corporate Relations report.



Farhan’s knowledge of a very wide array of technologies coupled with his business education and hands on experience at Epic put him in a very unique position to lead Vonlay’s development efforts.
